In this workshop, we zero in on prose, whether fiction or memoir, short stories or novels. Bring your incomplete manuscript, your first paragraph, or your completely undeveloped idea. We’ll spend some time in class discussing our inspirations, free writing, working from new prompts and developing your work in progress (WIP) if you have one. Love writing fiction, but haven’t the faintest idea what you’d like to write about? That’s fine! You can still join us.

In this workshop, you choose how you’d like to divide your focus between writing and critique. During our first several meetings, we’ll spend most of our time writing, and bouncing ideas off one another. As we get further into the eight weeks, everyone will have the option to submit what they’re working on for critique by your classmates on While each participant will be asked to submit something at least once, no one will be obligated to put their work up for critique more than that unless they choose to do so.
